Why It Makes Sense

With print advertising, you pay for square inches of space - the larger the ad, the greater the cost. If you want color, it costs more. If you want it to appear more than one time, it costs more. You constantly weigh the trade-off between running a smaller, less-costly ad multiple times versus a larger, more visible ad in fewer issues to get across your message.

An associated advertising website is a cost effective way to meet the needs of your advertising budget.

On the web, you always get as much room as you want, you always get full color, and it's always on. Your print and web advertising can complement each other. For example, your small print ad might include the line "Visit our website for additional products/services." And the website could refer potential customers to limited-time offers in your newspaper ad.

How It Works

We offer two basic website styles from which you may choose.

This style has a navigation menu in a column on the left. As you may wish to add pages and categories to your site, there is room to grow. Your logo or name at the top anchors each page. Step 1: Select a domain name

The domain name - the web address - you want for your website might not be available. For example, "www.cafemomo.com" and "www.secretgarden.com" are both already in use. However, "cafemomosonoma.com" and "secretgardenpetaluma" are both available. We'll guide you through finding a domain name that works for you.

Step 2: Register the domain name

Once you register your domain name, no one else may use it. The cost: usually around $10 per year. This is paid directly to the registrar.

Step 3: Find a host

Your website's files are uploaded to a computer that is always connected to the Internet. This is called the Host. There are numerous options for hosting a website; if you already have Internet access, your service provider probably provides hosting.

Hosting includes room on the host's servers for your files, mailboxes (so you can receive email at "yourname@yourbusiness.com"), and other services. The cost: as little as $10 per month, paid through an account to the host.

Step 4: Design the site

Under your direction, using artwork and photos you provide (or, optionally, that we create for you), we'll select a layout and color scheme to suit your taste and business. We'll help you organize the material for each page, and then design and construct a Home page, a Contact page (including map, if desired) and two additional pages of your content.

The cost for this four-page website can be as little as $750.
