INFOGRAPHICS

When information design meets graphic design, the result is infographics. The purpose of an infographic is to help in the understanding of a complex concept, often in ways that words alone cannot accomplish.

In publications, a good infographic can be a blessing for the writers; they can focus on the meaning of a concept, instead of trying to explain how it works.

CARTOGRAPHY

One of the most important and widely-used forms of the infographic is Cartography. Maps use a complex, but easily understood, array of symbolism to represent the surface of the earth. Our Cartography selection is on its own page.

SKYSCRAPERS!

In 2007, the Liberty Science Center, in Jersey City, NJ, opened its new permanent exhibit "Skyscraper! Achievement and Impact." Newman Design was commissioned to do a series of diagrammatical pieces to become part of the display.
